Salda lake and Pamukkale tour from Side is a nature and culture tour to Turkey's Maldives Salda lake and the world-famous Pamukkale.
The first place we will visit on our day tour departing from Side is Lake Salda. Salda lake is the cleanest and also one of the deepest lakes (184 meters) in Turkey. The water of the lake is less salty and has high alkaline properties. It is estimated that Salda Lake was formed approximatelly 2 million years ago. Salda lake's natural beauty has been preserved until today due to its location among the mountains and away from the main road. The nature park of Salda lake has a wonderful combination of a white-sanded beach, pine and juniper-covered forests, and clear blue sky. The white sands that make Salda lake so attractive reminiscent of the Maldives. For this reason, It is referred to as the Maldives in Turkey. You will have the opportunity to walk on the sandy beach and swim in Salda Lake.
The second visit of The tour is the world-famous Pamukkale with its white terraces and the ancient city of Hierapolis. Pamukkale, which means 'cotton castle' is located about 300 km away from Side. A natural beauty resembling a castle made of pure white cotton has been created as a result of the precipitation of minerals in the region's high temperature spring waters when they encounter cold weather. It has got thermal water of 30 degrees and it is said to be good for some sickness. You can swim, walk and take great photos on the terraces of Pamukkale .
Pamukkale, which has been a center of attraction throughout history due to its healing properties, has hosted many civilizations. The ruins of the Roman city of Hierapolis that have survived to the present day are among them. Hierapolis is just next to Pamukkale travertines. Hierapolis, which means Holly city was founded in the 2nd century AD. The ruins of antique city streches for approximately 2.7 km. In the ancient city , you can see well-preserved structures such as main streets, Necropolis(old cemetry),antique bath houses,Agora (old market place) and theater . There is the Cleopatra pool which was created artificially right above the Pamukkale travertines, you will see the historical columns destroyed due to earthquakes. If you wish, you can swim among these columns in these thermal waters by paying an extra fee. Here, You will have free time to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
