Next, we continue to the ancient city of Side, a district of Manavgat located about 60 km from Alanya. Once an important Roman port, Side is now a charming coastal town filled with remarkable ancient ruins. The name “Side,” meaning pomegranate in the ancient Anatolian language, dates back to the 2nd century AD. According to legend, this beautiful region was gifted by Mark Antony to Cleopatra as a symbol of his love. The ancient city features well-preserved historical landmarks, including the Roman Amphitheater, the Temple of Apollo, the Necropolis (ancient cemetery), and the Agora (ancient marketplace). You will also have free time to explore Side’s local shops before continuing the tour.
Our final stop is the Manavgat River and the famous Manavgat Waterfall, one of the most photographed natural attractions in Türkiye. Although the waterfall is not very high, its powerful water flow creates a spectacular white cascade over the rocks. Next to the waterfall, a peaceful shaded tea garden offers a relaxing environment where visitors can enjoy the scenery. Lunch will be served as an open buffet at a riverside restaurant by the Manavgat River.
